Personal Stories
CDD

By sharing our personal stories we offer experience, strength, and wisdom to others. CDD is so rare that finding others who've been affected by the disorder is a one in thousands chance. Even on the internet there are very few places where a parent or grandparent faced with a new diagnosis can find other families in like circumstances.

Com*mu*ni*ty - (3.) A social, religious, occupational, or other group sharing common characteristics or interests and perceived or perceiving of itself as distinct in some respect from the larger society in which it exists.

~Webster's Encyclopedic Unabridged Dictionary, Thunder Bay Press, 2001

Our greatest asset, as human beings, is community. Community of knowledge. Community of history. Community of commonalities and of differences. Communities can be large populations that number in the millions, or they can be a populous of two. Where one person reaches out to another community is offered, and when the other person reaches back community is born.

In community we are strong. In community we are validated. In community we are supported. By sending in your story for publication you reach out to another... another who may desperately need to have someone to reach back too.
